Description by publisher
Deluxe Dir (DDIR) started ('92) as an experimental Pascal program which turned out to be quite a useful utility. It now serves as a directory lister which can be used as a replacement for the DIR command, as a file finder and as a file viewer (reader). Its main advantage is that it lists long directories in three columns of text instead of the one column used by the 'dir' command, yet showing the file sizes, which are usually quite important and are not shown by the 'dir /w' command.
In addition, DDIR contains many features such as: highlighting all the executable and compressed files, sorting the files by name, extension, size or date, moving all the subdirectory files to the beginning of the directory, ignoring the period-directory files, showing all the hidden and system files, showing Hebrew filenames in Hebrew characters and interpreting wildcards more efficiently.
DDIR has a detailed display which allows interactive browsing through sub-directories, viewing of archive file directories, file viewing and more. DDIR can also create report files such as a list of all files of a selected drive, sorted by size.
